Time Flies

How is it possibly already June 6? Where has this Spring gone? It's hard to believe I will only be in Italy for another month and a half before heading off to California for 3 weeks with the family, where I will finish up my time with them. I have been having such an amazing time lately that leaving is going to be incredibly hard. I had a fabulous week long visit with my mom and Sissy at the end of May. We went to Capri for one night, but other than that were in Rome the rest of the time. I have spent some time in Monte Argentario- a coastal town in Tuscany where the family's beach house is. It is the most beautiful place and it is so nice to go out on the boat all day with the kids, anchoring in the middle of the sea for a picnic lunch, stopping at various ports for gelato, parking on the beaches to play in the sand...pure relaxation! At the same time, I have also been having such a wonderful time in Rome- falling more and more in love with it every day. I have been spending a lot of time with my friend Alexandra. She's from Virginia, went to University of Richmond, and also to Episcopal High School, so we know some mutual people and have really hit it off. She lives in Trastevere in Rome which has been so much fun to spend more time in- Trastevere is a whole different side of the city that has such a quaint feel to it. Life seems too good to be true right now! The kids finish school at the end of this month, and I actually just figured out that I will be going to Greece (Mikonos and Santorini) for a week with Meredith, Burney, and Molly at the beginning of July! I am looking so forward to it- an incredible way to end my year.

Post-College Spring Break in Italy

I don't even know where to start with Kate and Rachel's visit over here... In fact, I have hardly told anyone any details about the week because it was just so wonderful and perfect it's hard to even put in words. It was one of the BEST weeks of my life. We had the most amazing time in Capri and Rome, and I never wanted them to leave. I don't think any description would do the trip justice, but I will at least share our pictures! Still need your pics too, K and R.

After they left, it took me about a week to recover from the excessive wining and dining. Now, I'm getting ready for my mom and her friend, Sissy, to get here on Friday for another week! They will be in Rome mainly, and I am actually going back to Capri with them this weekend- I may be Capri's biggest fan. I'm looking so forward to seeing my mom and having her in Rome, since she didn't make it here over Christmas after her flight was cancelled. I can't believe that when she leaves May is basically over. Time has been flying recently, and I can't believe how little time I have left here! I will be in Rome through the end of June, then in Sorrento with the family for 2 weeks, and then we're off to spend almost a month in California for the end of July and beginning of August. Shana is originally from California, so we will be spending some time with her family as well as traveling. The kids are already enrolled in summer camps that they are so excited about. Lots to look forward to in my last few months! In the meantime...back to Capri!
