After a wonderful last weekend at home, I finally arrived today in Rome! I had an easy flight and actually arrived 30 minutes early. I arrived at my new home to a pretty much empty house! Shana was there to greet me, but Tomasso (her husband) is in Milan for work, Jasper (the 6 year old) is at sailing camp until Friday, and Livia/Liv (the 4 year old) is at a friend's house. I talked with Shana for a while and had tea and muffins. She gave me a general overview of things, and then had to head out to the dentist. Luckily for me, I had the afternoon to unpack. I absolutely love my room, and the apartment is amazing. Here are a few pictures (I took too many, but I just love it! And fits all of my stuff!).
I have not walked around yet, but I just finished unpacking and showering. Shana gave me a map and showed me some nice areas to walk around in, so I look forward to doing that tomorrow. I met one of their housekeepers today. She is very sweet and gave me a big hug and kiss, but we did not communicate very well...she told me she spoke some Italian and Spanish- I thought I did too until we started talking. But she was very nice and hopefully my Italian will improve so we will be able to talk more in the near future. Liv and Shana will be home soon, so I will have to post again tomorrow with much more news I'm sure! Thanks again Mom for making sure my last weekend at home was so perfect! Here are a few pictures from my "last dinner"! Ciao for now!
Andrew came in town too!!

ReplyDeleteYour pad is awesome Caro! I'm glad you are there safely. Love you and miss you already.
ReplyDeleteI saw the same cool chairs today in an art gallery in Beaufort SC! I want you to invite the bakery chefs to immigrate to Charleston! I would gain 20 pounds if that was in walking distance for me.
